Oak Creek Bed & Breakfast is located only 1 -1/2 hours from Dallas, Texas and approximately 15 minutes from downtown Athens, Texas. We're only minutes from Canton First Monday Trade Days and other area attractions. Make us your home base, and do it all!

Many of the County Roads you will follow are unmarked. So, even if you plan to use your GPS, it is highly recommended that you print our directions for reference. We know where we are and we know how to get here.

I know some of you are going to ignore this warning, but know this: Mapblast, MapQuest and even Google make reference to many roads that aren't marked.

If you are not using a GPS and do not use our directions, you will get lost. Trust us on this one.

The Google Map below shows our correct location. Use it to print out directions from your start point to Oak Creek. Simply click on the "push-pin" and follow the online instructions.

  Driving Directions from Dallas,Texas

  1. From Dallas, Take TX-175 South to Athens.
  2. Turn right onto Loop 7 West.
  3. When you see the sign for HWY. 31 to Corsicana, take the very first right after passing this sign. This is an unmarked road (CR 1409). Follow this a short distance until the road dead-ends into a "T"
  4. Turn right on County Road 1408 (unmarked).
  5. You will pass Kinsey-Holman Road on your left. DO NOT TURN HERE.
  6. Continue on CR 1408 until the road dead-ends into a "T".
  7. Turn left and follow the road for approximately one mile.
  8. Look for the Oak Creek sign on the right-hand side of the road. We are located 1/4 of a mile off the road.
  9. Park in your designated parking spot (clearly marked with signs). We'll come and greet you.

Driving Directions from Houston:

  1. Take I-45 North to Corsicana.
  2. Exit Hwy.31 East.
  3. Turn right, heading toward Athens. You'll pass through the towns of Powell, Kerens, Trinidad and Malakoff.
  4. Continue on Hwy. 31 through the community of Crescent Heights.
  5. As you approach Athens, turn left onto Loop 7 East. Immediately get into the left-hand turn lane. Turn left onto County Road 1408.
  6. You will pass Kinsey-Holman Road on your left. DO NOT TURN HERE.
  7. Continue on CR 1408 until the road dead-ends into a "T".
  8. Turn left and follow the road for approximately one mile.
  9. Look for the Oak Creek sign on the right-hand side of the road. We are located 1/4 of a mile off the road.
  10. Park in your designated parking spot (clearly marked with signs). We'll come and greet you.

Driving Directions from San Antonio-Austin:

  1. Take I-35 N to Waco.
  2. Take exit 338A toward Bellmead/TX-31/Waco Dr/US-84
  3. Follow the signs to TX-31 E (TX-31/Hubbard/Corsicana)
  4. Take TX-31 to Corsicana.
  5. Continue heading East toward Athens. You'll pass through the towns of Powell, Kerens, Trinidad and Malakoff.
  6. Continue on Hwy. 31 through the community of Crescent Heights.
  7. As you approach Athens, turn left onto Loop 7 East.
  8. Immediately get into the left-hand turn lane. Turn left onto County Road 1408. (very small sign)
  9. You will pass Kinsey-Holman Road on your left. DO NOT TURN HERE.
  10. Continue on CR 1408 until the road dead-ends into a "T".
  11. Turn left and follow the road for approximately one mile.
  12. Look for the Oak Creek sign on the right-hand side of the road. We are located 1/4 of a mile off the road.
  13. Park in your designated parking spot (clearly marked with signs). We'll come and greet you.

Driving Directions from Tyler:

  1. Take Hwy. 31 West to Athens.
  2. As you approach Athens, you will see an overpass crossing over Hwy. 31. This is Loop 7/FM317)
  3. Exit right onto Loop 7 heading north.
  4. Continue on Loop for approximately 5.3 miles
  5. When you see the sign for HWY. 31 to Corsicana take the very first right after passing this sign. This is an unmarked road (CR 1409).
  6. Follow this a short distance until the road dead-ends into a "T" Turn right on County Road 1408 (unmarked).
  7. You will pass Kinsey-Holman Road on your left. DO NOT TURN HERE.
  8. Continue on CR 1408 until the road dead-ends into a "T".
  9. Turn left and follow the road for 1.2 miles.
  10. Look for the Oak Creek sign on the right-hand side of the road. We are located 1/4 of a mile off the road.
  11. Park in your designated parking spot (clearly marked with signs). We'll come and greet you.

Driving Directions from Palestine, Texas

  1. Travel North on Texas State Highway 19.
  2. As you approach Athens, you will come to Loop 7.
  3. Drive under the Loop and make a left onto the entry ramp to Loop 7.
  4. Travel approximately 4.5 miles on West Loop 7.
  5. When you see the sign for HWY. 31 to Corsicana, slow down.
  6. Stay on the loop, crossing the bridge over Hwy 31.
  7. Immediately get into the left-hand turn lane.
  8. Turn left on County Road 1408 (small sign on stop sign).
  9. Continue on CR 1408.
  10. You will pass Kinsey-Holman Road on your left. DO NOT TURN HERE.
  11. Continue on CR 1408 until the road dead-ends into a "T".
  12. Turn left and follow the road for approximately one mile.
  13. Look for the Oak Creek sign on the right-hand side of the road.
  14. We are located 1/4 of a mile off the road.

Driving Directions from Jacksonville, Texas

  1. Travel North on U.S. Highway 175.
  2. As you approach Athens, you will come to Loop 7.
  3. Drive under the Loop and make a left onto the entry ramp to Loop 7.
  4. Travel approximately 9.8 miles on Loop 7.
  5. When you see the sign for HWY. 31 to Corsicana, slow down.
  6. Stay on the loop, crossing the bridge over Hwy 31.
  7. Immediately get into the left-hand turn lane.
  8. Turn left on County Road 1408 (small sign on stop sign).
  9. Continue on CR 1408.
